My favourite city in Europe has to be Amsterdam. The heart of a truely civilised country. Little traffic except bikes and trams, pavement cafes on pretty squares, enlightened attitudes married somehow with a prim populace, the light off the canals, the arts, the museums...
And everyone speaks English which helps (if you speak English).
Then again, Barbados takes some beating.
