On the way down, I heard a loud pop from my right ankle. The fall didn't hurt me, but the pop did. I bet it's broken. I can't walk. We were out in the boonies about a two and a half hour drive from home. By the time we got here, the doctor's office was closed so I guess I'll get it Xrayed in the morning. In the meantime, I am getting great service. WMM brings me the paper, a cup of tea, a fried apple pie, or just about anything I want. There is a funny side to this. About six years ago, I fell and broke the left ankle. It made the same noise. It hurt the same and put me in a cast for 6 weeks and a funny looking shoe for six more. It's that funny French term all over again. The sad part is that it is only five weeks until the next scooter meet and the only thing I have that I can ride without two fully operational feet is a Honda moped.(snif) And then there is the Allstate Cushman that I am having restored in Florida. It should be ready any day now, and I can't drive! (sob) And the Eagle I just bought. It's out in the shop with the back wheel off. How am I ever going to get it back together if my ankle is in a cast up to my neck? (blubber) Talk about rotten timing. Stay tuned for further reports about noon tomorrow. |
