Online Chess, with a happy ending posted by Sam on Wednesday, February 9, 2000, at 14:19:19:
i just love idiots like that. What it really gets down to, though, is that their tiny little lives are so pathetic that they have nothing better to do than go to various online communities and be a jackass. I've seen it happen everywhere. I like to play tribes, an online Doom-like game in which teams of people try to kill other teams of people. I can't count the number of times some idiot has decided to shoot up his own team just to be obnoxious. Every chat area on the net has it's share of losers (we know who they are here) who have nothing better to do than to disrupt legitimate chat. I've adminned on tons of chat rooms (both NUTS-based unix talker systems, and geocities chat) and I've NEVER seen a chat where everyone just comes in to have a good time. There's always someone who has to try to ruin it for everyone else.
Even online subject-specific message forums aren't safe from this crap. I'm on two topic-only message forums, a Honda CRX forum and a Microsoft Access forum. BOTH of those forums have had several problems with jerks coming on there and trying to disrupt. All I can think is that I'm glad I'm not experiencing these losers' pointless existance.
It's times like this when you wonder why these people are allowed to breed.
My rant's over ;)
