I'm rather surprised by the number of people who chose bananas; bananas can be eaten at any time from when they start to turn yellow to just before they ferment. That's a space of like three weeks. > > > > That's true; I think pears would be my second choice. > > The curious thing about bananas is that people disagree about just when the "optimum stage of ripeness" is. I happen to like my bananas with a little bit of green still in the peel; otherwise they're mushy. Some people, on the other hand, prefer to eat bananas once the peel is starting to turn brown. > > I think that proves that peaches and pears are better answers to the poll question than bananas. :)
Not neccessarily. Keep in mind the nature of a poll; it asks individual *opinions* on subjects. Pertaining to the potassium stick (b'nana), it doesn't matter how different people gage the "optimum" ripeness for flavor, but simply that they agree that it's a short period of time. The poll didn't inquire as to the exact stage of the fruit, but merely the length of that stage.
Tra "also omitted from the poll was the possibility of differences in varieties; perhaps to some people, a Granny Smith has a longer period of yumminess than a Red Delicious, and so forth" nio
