Okay, I missed Stupid Day, but on reading the Site Journal, I decided to make up for it and jump the gun on Click-On-A-Rinkworks-Ad-Day (dashes-added-for-emphasis).
It helps that I have a boring job. I sit at a desk. I have a computer. It's a Pentium III, running NT 4.0, connected to a WAN. I have lots of little papers all over my desk. They all look important.
I also have a phone. That is where my job comes in. About 5 times a day, it rings, and then I answer it beginning with [unspecified 9 syllable combination of names]. Then I sit, and wait for it to ring again. (Perhaps I didn't miss the boat on Stupid Day after all...)
Anyway, after clicking on the umpteenth ad, I decided that it would help if Sam added a page that was absolutely blank, with just the ad. Or maybe a couple instances of the ad, so that I could say, "Gee, I really liked that CyberRebate ad, but it's nothing compared to the changing graphics on that 0% APR one... I'll choose that one this time!"
By having a page that just displays one ad and nothing else, I could accellerate my ad-clicking-rate by 3%! ... and assuming a steady clicking rate, this could increase Rinkworks income by 5 whole dollars each year! Just think of the savings, the improvements, the spreading of Stupid Day among the masses that could be accomplished! Muhahahaha!
