No Stephen, I think you're confusing Fantasy Quest with King's Quest I, in which if you let some silly little bird out of its cage about two minutes into the game, you can't possibly win the game, except you won't know that until days and days later, when you actually get to the part where you need the freekin' bird.

Do I sound bitter? Sorry.
