I learned to ski in the Swiss Alps back in high school. Or rather, I learned to slam my face into the side of a mountain every 200m in the Swiss Alps.

I did have a funny conversation with a helpful skier who stopped to help me when my ski came flying off.

Him: Sprecken Sie Deutch?
Me: Nein, do you speak English?
Him: Nein... parlez-vous Francies?
Me: ?Halba Espanol?

We wound up communicating by sign language.
