That's the greatest show. Dave likes it too. It would never make it on U.S. network television, but it's better and funnier than anything they're airing.

A couple years ago I got to meet Steve Smith in person when he visited our local PBS station. Darleen and I had a Polaroid taken with him. And I got a chance to ask him a question that had been bugging me up until then. The question was, was there any reason to the similarity between the name "Red Green" and "Rick Green," who is the actor who plays Bill on the show. He said it was a total coincidence -- the name "Red Green" was thought up before Rick Green was hired.

But then he elaborated. Rick Green had created the "Bill" character before being hired to work on the Red Green Show, and Bill's last name is "Smith" -- the same last name as Steve's. Sometimes coincidences are scary.
