And all you other forum regulars too, of course.

Ah. I feel that way about it too. Even though things are a bit under the weather lately, this morning I read Sam's lucid response to the "fun things to psychoanalyze" thread and was enormously cheered up. This is what I love about Sam: that he cares, and he shows it. In my mind's eye, I have an image of Sam, sometimes skating and navigating a treacherously icy lake. But he does so with balance and verve... in his wake I can see grace, edged in a thin blue line.

While I'm at it, heh, I might as well tie this into Everett Kaser's question "If Sam were YOUR Genie, what would YOU ask for???" That's actually a very tough question for me, of the type I absolutely hate to answer... seeing that every year, whenever my folks ask me "What do *I* want?", I tell them I personally have everything I need already, and anything I get after that is just icing on the cake. So my response to the question is a lot like Brunnen-G's: I'd want Sam to give to himself continued health, presence, clarity of mind, commitment, and oodles and oodles of time to do those things he loves and knows are best. :-)
