No, the Supermarionation shows were pretty heavily shown on TV here for years, so most people my age know them. They're one of those things you either loved or hated. Guess which group I fall into.
As for people having no idea what I'm talking about, well, I don't know many people who have the same private interests as me, like science fiction stuff, bad movies, classic comedy, good music, bad jokes ... um, unless you count everyone here on the forum (motto: the dustbin of society). So I haven't really got any friends to rant to about those things. My real-world conversations tend to revolve around boats.
