Actually that was a quote from the end of a Star Trek: the Next Generation episode. In the second season the computer made a self aware holodeck character based on Shelock Holms archrival Prof. Morarty. He was stored in the computer untill they could find a way to bring him into the real world. Four or Five years later he was awoken and tried to get out, and to save the ship Captain Picard tircked him into believeing he had succeded, but he actually was in a miniture holodeck. Then Picard says the above line, which is ironic since Star Trek is just a simulation in a box on a table. The irony did make me chuckl but not laugh out loud.

I just remebered a Calvin and Hobbes strip.
It gose something like this

H: Mabey thats why it is so hard to tell if the show is a comedy or a tradgedy.
