Assault on Vampire Island - Rope

Hi all,

Unfortunately I'm stuck right at the beginning of the game. *looks ashamed*

I'm carrying: matches, bucket, watch, small metal key, threatening note

Loose ends: getting past / defeating Mr. Hyde, the mummy, the wolfman, the gator; moving small boulder on beach; getting into the castle; getting the thing from the ashes; getting down the cliff

I think getting down the cliff is the next step but unfortunately I do not have a rope. Can someone point me kindly in the right direction? Many thanks!
