Murkon's Vengeance Level 5

This is a question about the red guy in front of the changing wall. I have read all the hints posts on the subject, which is quite unusual for me. I have found hints about changing the shifting walls, I know I have to make the red guy move, but nothing I do works. If I go down the red guy follows but as soon as I go back up to hit the switch he is right back in the way again. Any help would be appreciated. I have been stuck on this problem for almost 2 weeks and i'm about ready to scream.
