Vengeance - Stuck on Level 6 *spoilers*

OK, so I came back to a very old game after a long time away, and I've sort of backed myself into a corner. I have zero checkpoints left, and three kills to get. Two of them I think I can get pretty easily; it's the third where I'm at my wit's end.
I'm currently at the checkpoint nearest Lyesis(?) and the Lyesis Death Squad is just too much for my minions and I to handle. I just can't survive any length of time before one of them cuts me to pieces. The "run awaaaay" strategy is of no help, because they just hack me up before I can escape.
So, do I need to start over and jack up agility at every opportunity so I can actually think about escaping? Or if I try enough times, will I eventually catch enough breaks that I can win?
