Mmm, Nanaimo bars sound good.

I blame my husband - he grew up in a family of six children, and if you wanted baking, you had to be fast, or steal it from the freezer. A career in larceny was born. (His cousins were also a family of six children. His aunt made six dozen Nanaimo bars when the kids were at school, wrapped them in paper and tinfoil, hid them in the bottom of the freezer, and labelled them "ground beef." When she went to unwrap them, the package contained newspaper, and a note that said "Nice try, Mom")!

Well, like I don't remember if I said or not -- if not, I surely meant to -- the only dessert or snack that I had previously heard of doing that to, with the exception of the sort that melts all over the place at room temperature (ice cream, popsicles, you get the idea), was candy bars. I remember seeing Snickers bars in the refrigerators with the cold drinks at convenience stores. But I haven't tried it with baked desserts such as the ones you mentioned. Which means it's hard for me to say how it would compare.

Nyper"Nanaimo... that's in November, right? ;)"old
