It all depends on what sort of assistance you seek. If you've played Murkon's Refuge, then you should recall that some monsters can really zap you. Check to see what you can get at the next portal (on Level 10, they are fairly obvious).

You might also find a scroll or other item that would help. Be sure to examine your inventory, and if you still aren't sure, try it anyway.

I hope that at least steers you in the right direction.
