When you die, you get to go back and pick a nonfatal option. Whenever you get to an area you haven't been, explore it. Also explore areas you have been, you might have missed something. Draw a map if you're getting lost.

Sorry about my vagueness, but I haven't played this game in forever. All I remember about it is a bridge that kept falling down, a tower, a troll, a soothsayer, unicorns, a cave, and a dwarf in a farmhouse. Plus a few chances to "be weird".

Basically, don't worry too much about making mistakes. You never lose the opportunity to win the game (which you will get to at some point).
