To help the indian, you just need to get him to follow you to someone else who can help him. There is a creature that according to legend has the ability to heal. bring the indian to them and they'll take care of him for you. Have you been in the castle beyond the garden yet? if not you need to get a ladder. I believe you get that by helping the storyteller. Somewhere in the forest or by the walkway south of the farm there is someone putting up notes with fake passwords. You can take one of these passwords. I believe that what you need to get past the beefhead is in the castle and what you need to past the firedrake is beyond the beefhead. As for the clown, you need to get past the firedrake before you can help him.
