The main thing to do right now is proceed further in the mines. If you explore the different railway lines in a mine cart, you'll find one that's still blocked by a barrier which you can get past now, and that will let you get to new areas.
Be sure to look around whenever you find a new place in the mines, for more ores, and in particular there's something more to find near running water.
