They are two guys who walk into the insanity of Hamlet just to add two more bodies to the count. they arn't even killed on stage, an Ambasador comes in at the end and says "Rosencrants and Guildenstern are dead." Another lay write rewrote Hamlet from their confused point of view. Go to your video rental place and see if they have the movie version. It's hilarious.
