The ever annoying question :-) posted by Kalimeris on Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at 11:34:50:

Running a search on it shows the question hasn't been asked in a while, though my search wasn't very thorough and I appreciate any patience given to me if the question has indeed been asked recently. >
Not annoying at all. It's so slow on this forum aside from the usual hint requests that it's nice to have a new thread on it.
> I know there's at least one planned, SOAT, which I am and have been eagerly awaiting. I also know that because of how extensive the game sounds in comparison to the other two (which is pretty serious, because those games were a serious undertaking) it's still going to be quite a while before it's released. Sounds good to me. > > I seem to remember something mentioned in a Site Journal entry about another possibly coming out that Sam was about halfway done with. Sounds good. >
Indeed. Sam usually has a lot of projects in various stages of development at any one time (I'd guess around a dozen), so often one of them will remain halfway done for a long period of time. Don't worry that he won't finish -- the main issue is when he'll return to it to finish it off.
> There were also a few posts a couple years back detailing a few other possibilities from different authors. Maybe? >
I'm not sure if any of those panned out, but there are a couple of new ones in the works that are far enough along that I'd be surprised if either of them wasn't eventually finished. I probably can't go into the details too much here.
> I guess I'm just wondering what's going on on the game front? Anything new and exciting? Forgive me for asking the unforgivable question, but I have been wondering for a while, and being the bored college student that I am (German grammar and finding derivatives can only be so interesting when you aren't a party girl and are attending a school known for partying, among other things), I'm feeling extra bold today. > > I'm also hoping that because I haven't just left a one-liner message saying "WHEN NEW GAME COME OUT?????????/?", someone will be willing to respond. > > I'll probably go back and play Perils or GOA again. I liked those the best. These AGL really are some of the best games I've run across. > > Thanks for any answers you're willing to give!
If you're interested, you could come into the "Game Development" room in RinkChat sometime and find out some more (lurking's OK too). Including me, there are four people currently writing games that hang out in there sometimes. There are probably some things we could talk about that shouldn't go public on the forum. (Hey, maybe we could even get you interested in writing a game of your own.)
