Frothy waves lapped about her bare feet, comforting, understanding. The sea had always known. the sea was the eternal one.

We stayed at Mandalay Bay; it's very, very nice, without being as posh (read as: decadent) as something like the Bellagio. Friends stayed at Paris earlier this month but said the rooms at Mandalay Bay were nicer (as if anyone spends ANY time in the room). The Venetian is supposed to be good, too. As for shows, I can only tell you what I've heard. I was there for The WB Radio Music Awards, and saw Sugar Ray at the House of Blues and The Who at the MGM Grand, so I didn't have time to see any of the permanent shows like Chicago, which is supposed to be GREAT, and the Cirque du Soleil show "O," which is done mostly underwater, I think, and is good but expensive.

I stuck to blackjack myself, but only because my favorite craps bet is "don't pass" and unless you have someone with you, it's a lonely, lonely bet. More often than not a winner, but the rest of the table hates you. What can I say, I cave to peer pressure.

If you can swing it (e-mail me for more details), try to get into the House of Blues Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay. It's a private club at the very top of the hotel with an amazing view up the strip -- most of the acts in town hang out there after their shows.

Mou"I met another Scorpio there, too, but so far, so good (knock on wood)"sie
