As Gomer used to say, "Surprise, Surprise, Surprise! That leaky oil line in Alaska is going back into service, they said. Not leaking as bad as they thought, they said.

I guess too many people saw it as an excuse to raise oil prices. If the deception didn't work, they might as well back down and go back to pumping oil. The price didn't go up anyway.

It actually went down a little, which is the usual pattern. First they jack up prices and talk about much higher prices. Then they drop it a smidgeon and that makes everybody happy.

It looks like people could see through that one like they did the phony leaky pipe ruse.
