Scientists discover a star on collision course with the Earth. It's got a planet of its own in its orbit, and an idea is concocted to save a remnant of humanity by shuttling it to this other planet and hoping it can support life. The film is dry, but it's highlighted with some good special effects -- all except for a matte painting in the final scene that looks more like a matte painting than possibly any other.
