Twilight (1998)

Reviews and Comments

Director Robert Benton and star Paul Newman teamed up again (the first time was for Nobody's Fool) to make this uneven, aimless film noir story about (who else?) a private investigator having (what else?) an affair with the wife of his client. The movie is moderately entertaining, but it's confused and insubstantial. It's too bad, because there's a lot of star power behind it. Supporting Newman are Susan Sarandon, Gene Hackman, James Garner, Stockard Channing, Reese Witherspoon, and others.
