Weak Philo Vance episode starring Warren William in an enthusiastic but lonely performance. Eugene Pallette's turn as Sergeant Heath is the only other of note. The mystery itself is more than a little contrived and mechanically executed. It's as if the filmmakers knew how to make mysteries but had long since become bored with the task.
