The Black Rose (1950)

Reviews and Comments

This medieval adventure vehicle for Tyrone Power starts well, despite the nagging artificiality of the dialogue and staging. The plot places the heroes in some interesting innovative situations, and for a moment it looks like this film would be a guilty pleasure. But when the Black Rose, an annoying little English girl, shows up, the film loses steam, spiraling rapidly into the doldrums of protracted boredom.
