When Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs acchieved scads of critical acclaim and made enough money to keep the studio from going broke, Disney was all set to make a second animated feature, Pinocchio. The result was another smashing success with a similarly strong story, a similarly entertaining soundtrack, and similarly meticulous attention to detail. I'll go a step further and say it's a notch better due to its handling of the characters, which are equally endearing but better developed, struggling with some very real, tangible emotions. Pinocchio is beloved, timeless work of art that should not be missed.
