No Room For the Groom (1952)

Reviews and Comments

Clever comedy starring Tony Curtis who falls in love with his boarder, Piper Laurie, who elope while Curtis is on leave from the military -- despite the efforts on Laurie's mother's part (who also lives in Curtis' house) to keep the two separated. But he comes down with chicken pox on their wedding night, and she has to keep away. It's only the beginning of the young couple's comic troubles. This film is good natured, light hearted fun, touched here and there with subtle wit.
