This first true teaming of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy doesn't particularly hint at the genius to come. It's about a couple of bums who try to evade getting pressed into fire-fighting duty. They stumble upon a luxurious home, whose owner is out of town, and predictable confusion ensues. The talkie Laurel and Hardy: Another Fine Mess is a superior remake.
