There's nothing especially original about Flash, a made-for-TV Disney film about a boy from a poor family who aspires to own a horse (the title character) who has won his heart. His father is naturally a hopeless realist who thinks his son would do better to keep his mind on more practical things. And, of course, the horse falls into the hands of an owner with dubious training methods. But it all works out in the end.

I recommend this film to horse lovers, but that's it. This isn't a bad reworking of the formula; it's just that there are countless films that do it better.
