Father Frost (1964)

(aka: Jack Frost)

Reviews and Comments

This Russian fairy tale Morozko is a curious mix of Cinderella, Snow White, and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Magical phenomena abound -- such as a house with legs, a sympathetic sun, and a mushroom man -- in this world where nature itself enforces moral justice. It's an enchanting tale, or at least it would be if the acting and staging weren't so hokey.
