NOTES:
(a) = FIRST TRFLNF (LOST) = The Australian produced "The Story of the Kelly Gang" (1906) is considered the world's first TRFLNF. The 70 minute film premiered in Australia on December 26, 1906. Only 17 minutes (24%) of the original 70 minutes of footage exists today - the remaining 53 minutes of film is considered to be lost. Although I have seen this existing 17 minutes, I consider the remaining footage to be a SHORT film and not a TRFLNF since 40+ minutes are not available for viewing. (YouTube of existing 17 min)
(b) = OLDEST SURVIVING TRFLNF = Multiple sources cite "Dante's Inferno" (1911) as the "World's Oldest Surviving" TRFLNF which is still fully intact and available for present day viewing. (YouTube)
(c) = First feature-length motion picture with synchronized dialogue sequences. Includes numerous synchronized singing sequences & about 2 minutes of synchronized speech, the rest of the dialogue is through intertitles.
(d) = Silent movie with intertitles except for spoken dialogue speeches by Douglas Fairbanks (in character) at beginning and in middle of film - Fairbanks' first spoken dialogue in a film - contained within his final silent film.
(e) = Silent movie with mostly intertitles with occasional dialogue sequences added into it.
(f) = Silent movie with intertitles except for Chaplin's first ever spoken lines in a film consisting of him singing a "gibberish" song in a single scene.
(g) = Silent movie with intertitles except for a single word of dialogue by French mime Marcel Marceau near end in which he says "No!".
(h) = Silent Indian Bollywood movie with absolutely no dialogue, but also no intertitles, just a musical score and the sights, sounds and sighs of a people-packed city.
(i) = Silent movie with intertitles except for short talking sequence at end: Director: "Cut"; Zimmer: "Perfect. Beautiful. Could you give me one more?"; Valentin: "With pleasure!".
PRE-1929 TALKIES = The only Pre-1929 100% FULL-talkie TRFLNF I've seen is "In Old Arizona" (1928). Because it is not a silent film, it is NOT listed above.
