Random Quotes for Fun and...

I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this, but I have a long list of movie quotes that I like to drop into casual conversation, often for my own personal amusement. I'm not talking about obvious cheeseball stuff like "Hasta la vista, baby," either. I'm talking about somewhat more obscure stuff like, "Oh I get it. It's very clever. How's that working out for you?" (Fight Club) or "Have I mentioned that your JOB is on the line?" (Princess Bride).

Most of the time we reference pop culture it's to be inclusive, to draw upon some sort of shared cultural experiences. But when you pull out these fairly random quotes that only more hardcore fans (read: geeks) would know, it's often to the befuddlement of any other party to conversation.

So when I'm walking down the hall and a co-worker tries to ask me something and I respond "No time for love, Dr. Jones" (Temple of Doom, obviously, but the usage of the reference is from Clerks -- which reminds me that, "That's what life is, a series of down endings" is another favorite of mine to use like this), I'm really only doing it to make myself laugh.

Now, of course, what's particularly nice is when I say, "Leeloo Dallas, multipass!" and the other person starts gushing over Fifth Element. It's like some sort of geek check that immediately validates the other person's worth in my mind. So maybe that's a nice little secondary reason.

But I'm curious. How many of you do this same thing? And, more importantly, what quotes do you use for this purpose?
